Yesterday House Democrats, disgusted at the lack of action taken on sensible gun control legislation, staged a sit-in in protest. Speaker Paul Ryan may have turned off the C-SPAN cameras, but as the social media cameras kept going, one thing became disturbingly clear: This sit-in is being fueled by loads of junk food.

TMZ claims that Democrats sent interns out for Chick-fil-A. Chick-fil-A! Despite the chain's financial support to Republican politicians, not to mention its history with LGBT rights (OK, fine, they stayed open to support rescue workers in the aftermath of the Orlando shooting).

I've got indigestion on the House's behalf now. Ugh. Couldn't someone send a salad? Seriously, though, it's amazing to see the flood of support Democrats received from their colleagues... in the form of grub. Let's stage a national eat-in, yeah? We'll nosh our way to sensible gun legislation.
