Ever heard the expression “it’s about as much use as a chocolate teapot”?

Well, you might think twice about using it yourself, because someone has actually gone and invented a useful chocolate teapot.

"Get ready to have your tiny little mind blown", says London-based online retailer Firebox as it launches a £25 teapot that is handmade entirely out of chocolate. Top-quality dark chocolate, to be precise (58 per cent cocoa solids).

When you fill it with hot water and stir in cocoa powder, you have a tasty hot chocolate drink to pour straight from the teapot. If you add more water, you have your own retro, creamy, chocolate fondue — perfect for dipping strawberries, marshmallows or whatever else you like.

And when you’re done, you can break up the teapot and eat it.

The quirky contraption certainly means the adage for useless people or objects being "as much use as a chocolate teapot" no longer has the same meaning.

"It's more useful than an ashtray on a motorbike, a waterproof teabag, a glass hammer or mudflaps on a tortoise", says Firebox, and we couldn't agree more.
