If you’re not using your SodaStream for cocktails, you’re doing it wrong

It was only a matter of time until someone figured out how to use a SodaStream for cocktails, and that time is now.

VinePair rigorously tested and came up with four recipes for cocktails that you can actually carbonate directly in your SodaStream. You can experiment on your own, but drinks with too much sugar won't absorb the carbonation and can cause your SodaStream to literally explode (fun, eh?), so you're better off following these recipes.

The Sex and the City Sparkler is super pretty and perfect for girls' night in. It's made by carbonating vodka, cranberry juice, lime juice, stevia and water. The drink has an eye-catching hue that will make any occasion feel a little fancier.

Next up, they've got a Bourbon Fizzy Lemonade, made by combining whiskey, lemon juice, stevia and water in your SodaStream. The resulting cocktail is ideal for sipping on your porch.

Cocktail No. 3 is Hemingway's Stars, a take on the classic Hemingway cocktail, flavored with grapefruit juice, lemon, lime and gin. It's a fun and fizzy cocktail that's perfect for happy hour... or brunch, if you're feeling celebratory.

Lastly, a sparkling Grapefruit Margarita Fizz that couldn't be easier. All you need is margarita mix, grapefruit juice and tequila. Pour it over crushed ice, and get ready to enjoy the most refreshing drink ever.

Fizzy cocktails on command are definitely something every SodaStream owner should try at least once. But follow the recipes for safety's sake (no one wants an exploded SodaStream tearing through their kitchen, after all).
