Key Lime Pie Oreos are the latest in cookie flavors we’re not sure we need

All right, Oreo. Yesterday you rolled out your new Thins. Today, we’re hearing about your new Key Lime Pie cookie flavor. Maybe take the summer off? Go play outside for a while?

Don’t get me wrong. I have a soft spot for a classic Oreo cookie dunked in milk. And I was admittedly excited when I saw Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup Oreos at the grocery store. A package might have even made its way into my cart.

But… Key lime pie? I don’t think so.

I’m on new Oreo overload with all these options. Particularly the options that include neither the classic chocolaty cookie nor the classic white creme filling. Key Lime Pie Oreos with their graham cracker cookie and Key lime-flavored creme might taste fine, but are they even Oreos at this point?

And I hate to pile on, but isn’t this sort of recycling their Limeade flavor from last summer?

Here’s what one Instagrammer had to say about the taste:

For those of you who want to ride this kooky-flavored cookie train with flavors reminiscent of a lime Life Saver, the latest addition to the snack aisle has been spotted around the country at various stores.

Get ’em while you can… they’re limited edition, of course. You wouldn’t dream of eating Key lime pie-flavored treats in the winter, would you?
