Spring has sprung, and America’s favorite coffee chains are launching new menu items to celebrate.
However, Dunkin’ Donuts and Starbucks clearly have different philosophies when it comes to their offerings.
Over at Dunkin’, they’re taking a decidedly decadent route. Their most drool-worthy new pastry is the Oreo Cheesecake Square — basically a rectangular doughnut filled with cheesecake and topped with icing and Oreo crumbles. The Raspberry Cheesecake Square is straight-up topped with “raspberry flavored candy,” so there are no illusions of a wholesome breakfast here. (At least, I hope not!)

They have some new savory options too, including a Pretzel Roll Chicken Sandwich, a snack wrap with steak and a Southwest-style bagel. Tasty? Yes. Healthy? Maybe not so much. But let’s be real: I don’t think many people head to Dunkin’ for rabbit food anyway.
And what about Starbucks? They’re going in kind of the opposite direction. For spring, the company is introducing “Evolution Fresh,” a line of smoothies that’s part of a partnership with Dannon. Three flavors — Sweet Greens, Strawberry and Mango Carrot — will be available.
They’re also pumping up their savory offerings with a Thai-style Peanut Chicken Wrap and an Edamame Hummus Wrap, which honestly, both sound freaking delicious!
So whether you’re into the sweet stuff or craving your greens, you’re in luck. It looks like at least one of America’s fave coffee chains has your back this spring.
