KFC organ surprise will end your craving for fried chicken

A teen's life is full of simple pleasures, but sometimes tragedy strikes — this time in the form of a chicken organ.

Manuel Cobarubies from Stockton, California, is a high school student on a budget. Occasionally he spends some of his savings on a fried chicken lunch at KFC, where a few dollars can procure a hot and satisfying meal.

Imagine his horror when, after shelling out $4 to get his lunch, he came across a chicken organ resembling a small, gray brain.

He was shocked. "Just because I do eat there often, so, I mean, coming across something like that is just like, wow," he told Fox40 on Monday, Feb. 9. Just like wow indeed, Manuel.

"[It looked] like a brain to me. I mean, at that point, red flags were kind of raised," he continued. "I ended up spitting it in the trash can because I get grossed out by that."

I get grossed out by that too, Manuel.

Luckily a disgruntled tweet mentioning the incident was retweeted by more than 200 sympathizers who just wanted to help Manuel get his lunch money back. KFC saw the tweet and will make full restitution. Today, at least, justice has been served.

A KFC consultant called Manuel and let him know that what he thought was a gruesome chicken brain — former conduit for a lifetime of chicken memories, tears, fears and love — was actually just a kidney or gizzard and safe to eat.

But Manuel isn't convinced, and the incident has changed his life forever — when it comes to lunchtime, at least. "I'm probably just going to have to start packing my own meals, making my own sandwiches," he lamented.

What would you do if you found a chicken organ in your KFC?
