When it comes to fruit, some folks prefer melons, others are drawn to tropical flavours, and still others love berries the most. Ensure everyone spots something they love in the fruit salad you serve, with the help of this vibrant and flavourful recipe.


  • 3 cups strawberries, hulled and cut in slices or quarters
  • 3 cups red grapes
  • 1 pineapple, chopped
  • 1 cantaloupe, chopped
  • 4 kiwis, peeled and chopped


  1. In a bowl, place all the ingredients, and toss to combine.
  2. Serve immediately, or let the fruit salad chill in the fridge briefly before serving.

Optional honey-lime dressing

For an extra touch of tangy sweetness — and to help preserve your salad a little longer — drizzle it with a bit of this simple honey-lime dressing.


  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 3 tablespoons lime juice
  • Zest of 1 lime


  1. In a resealable container, place all the ingredients, and shake to combine.
  2. Pour the mixture over your fruit salad a little at a time, until desired sweetness is achieved.
  3. Store the remainder in the fridge to use when needed.

Note: For an extra flavour boost, add a sprinkle of chopped fresh mint or basil to the dressing.

Note: One of the best things about fruit salad is how customizable it is, so don't feel limited by the quantities or fruits mentioned here. If you have only half the strawberries mentioned in one of these recipes, replace the other half with another berry. Or if there's a fruit you don't like, leave it out or toss in a different fruit you've been wanting to use. Feel free to eyeball measurements, get creative and make your fruit salad exactly how you want it to be.
