The magic of the internet never ceases to amaze me. What’s today’s great discovery, you ask? Why, it’s this handy-dandy map of the U.S. and the Thanksgiving dishes each of the 50 states (and Puerto Rico) is obsessed with.
Thanks to Google, we now know the recipes that are the most searched for based on your state. Freaked out a bit? Yes, me too. But it’s also kind of amazing to see the breakdown in this ingenious New York Times piece. Honestly, some of these recipes I had never even heard of!
Funeral potatoes? Frog eye salad? Turkey enchiladas? Pineapple casserole? And possibly the most questionable one of all: cookie salad. Seriously, North Dakota, what were you thinking?
Whether or not you agree with your state’s selection (I don’t. Stuffed artichokes in New York? No thanks…), the chart is absolutely fascinating. Take a look to see how well your state is represented.
