Pumpkin Spice Oreos: Should you or shouldn’t you?

The latest addition to the pumpkin spice craze is hitting the shelves. We’re tasting the new Pumpkin Spice Oreos so that you don’t have to in order to answer the ultimate question: Should you try them, or should you leave well enough alone?

I admit, when I first heard about the new Pumpkin Spice Creme Oreos, I had my doubts. Pumpkin spice Jell-O, Pumpkin Spice Lattes, Pumpkin Spice everything… who isn’t sick of it by now? But when the Pumpkin Spice Oreos arrived in the office, I was still eager to take a taste.

Here are my thoughts as I took that first bite: The pumpkin spice flavor in the creme is actually very subtle. The vanilla cookie is a perfect complement to it, and I am actually a bit surprised at how much I am liking it right now. The orange color of the creme isn’t exactly appetizing. I mean, seriously, what are they putting in there? The creme is quite good, though. They really hit it out of the ballpark with this one, huh?

And here are some thoughts from the SheKnows team:

Delicious!! #halloweeninmymouth — Ashley H.

They were delicious. I’m not a huge pumpkin person, but it was perfectly balanced with the cinnamon and pumpkin spice. I also enjoyed the vanilla cookie, reminded me of old school lady fingers, when they were good. — Tiffany H.G.

Very yummy! Can’t taste the Pumpkin as much as I’d like, but I’d definitely have more than one! — Amy Jo L.

Really good! Could be good double stuffed because the flavor isn’t too dominating. Also could be interesting with a chocolate Oreo cookie. — Lexie S.

I really liked it and I would never have bought it in the store because it sounds terrible. But it is actually really tasty. — Leigh W.

My husband and I have been trying to track them down. These are awesome. It tastes like pumpkin and not overly sweet. One of their best unique flavor Oreos. Now I really need to seek them out. Yummy! I have to have another one now. — Amy Y.

I like it. Could be my preferred Oreo. Still overly sweet but you already know that when you have an Oreo. But the spice/taste is subtle and not overpowering. Doesn’t feel too gimmicky or junky. — Phil G.

So were they really worth it? Considering the overwhelmingly positive reaction we got, I would say a big resounding yes. Arriving on store shelves today (Sept. 24), just one day after the official start of fall, this limited-edition flavor will be available for six to eight weeks (or while supplies last). Now the only question that remains is: Do I buy one box or seven?
