How often do you get takeout, delivery or fast food? If you’re a busy parent, then the answer is probably more often than you’d like.
When you’re busy trying to juggle work and family life — never mind trying to grab some personal time here and there — it’s not always possible to get to the grocery store and then prep and cook an entire meal. It can be easy to fall into the takeout or drive-thru trap. But HelloFresh, the first nationwide recipe kit delivery service, wants to help families eat healthier — by making it easier to cook a healthy meal than it is to go get pizza.
HelloFresh will deliver a recipe box, containing measured ingredients for a healthy, tasty meal that will take 30 minutes or less to cook, to homes three times a week, for two or four people. This saves you a trip to the grocery store or drive-thru. Sample meals include short rib lettuce wraps, lemony chicken and swordfish over salad, which sound a lot more palatable to me than a soggy fast-food burger does.
The company is so passionate about changing the way America eats that you can upload your receipts from past takeout meals and receive credits toward your first order of a HelloFresh recipe box.
“I believe that cooking is one of the most important ways people can take control of their health,” says Rebecca Washa, a registered dietitian and in-house nutritionist at HelloFresh. “We want to help families get into the kitchen and bring cooking back to what it’s supposed to be — a simple, convenient and wholesome part of the weekly routine.”
