Ham-and-cheese-filled chicken rolls with creamy cheese sauce in a soft slider roll is finger licking good.
Put that napkin away, and just lick your fingers with this flavor-packed slider. It’s meaty, tender and the soft roll gives this slider a comfort food feel. I especially like the creamy blue cheese sauce with each bite. Just add a salad with these sliders, and you have a meal to remember.
Cordon bleu chicken sliders with blue cheese sauce recipe
Serves 2
Ingredients:
For the sliders
- 1 large boneless, skinless chicken breast
- 6 slices honey ham (or regular ham)
- 3 slices Swiss cheese
- 6 dashes salt
- 6 dashes ground black pepper
- 1/2 cup flour
- 1/4 cup canola oil
- 2 slider rolls
- Blue cheese sauce
For the blue cheese sauce
- 1/4 cup crumbled blue cheese
- 1/4 cup heavy whipping cream
Directions:
For the sliders
- Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.
- Cut the thickness of the chicken breast in 1/2 lengthwise, and pound out each piece until they’re about 1/4 of an inch thick.
- Lay the slices of ham on each piece of chicken.
- Add the Swiss cheese on top of the ham.
- Gently roll the chicken tightly over the ham and cheese.
- Sprinkle salt and pepper over the rolled chicken on all sides.
- To a small bowl, add the flour, and roll each piece of chicken in it so that all sides of the chicken are coated.
- Heat a medium skillet on medium heat, and add the canola oil.
- Add the chicken to the skillet seam side down.
- Let cook until the bottom is a light golden brown, and then turn to cook the remaining sides.
- Remove the chicken from the pan, and set on a wire rack that’s sitting on a cookie sheet or pizza pan.
- Place the chicken in the oven, and bake until the chicken is cooked through (about 12 to 15 minutes).
- Cut the slider rolls in 1/2, and drizzle the blue cheese cream sauce on the inside pieces of bread.
- Add the chicken to the bottom half of the slider roll.
- Drizzle blue cheese cream sauce on top of the chicken.
- Add the top piece of the slider roll, and serve.
For the blue cheese sauce
- Heat a small pan on low heat, and add the cheese and cream.
- Stir until it reaches the desired consistency.
- Spoon on top of the cordon bleu chicken and on the inside of the slider rolls.
