This is definitely not your average morning time smoothie, but it sure is good. I would say that it’s even better than regular banana smoothies for the added flavors of rum and raisins. With a drink like this, it can always be cocktail time.
Sitting down with a very cold smoothie on a warm afternoon sounds perfect, especially when it’s spiked with rum and sweetened with raisins. The alcohol doesn’t cut through the taste of the banana but instead actually gives it the very pleasant overall flavor of a nice fruit drink. It’s a great choice for those who like cocktails that are mild and fruity.
The raisins give the smoothie an added sweetness and texture that pair perfectly with the rum. My favorite ice cream flavor is rum raisin, so putting these two together in a banana smoothie was a big treat to my palate.
Boozy banana rum raisin smoothie recipe
- 1 banana
- 1/8 cup raisins (soaked in water for 5 minutes and drained)
- 2 tablespoons rum (or more if you want it strong)
- 1 cup milk
- Ice cubes
- Blend all the ingredients in a blender until very smooth.
- Serve immediately.
