Candy corn crepes
It's the time of year when candy corn hits the shelves. Eat your candy corn for breakfast in the form of tricolor crepes.
Here's a fun trick for a fall breakfast treat: candy corn crepes. So simple, so delicious and so pretty on your plate. It's guaranteed to become one of your favorite morning recipes. These crepes would make a perfect Halloween breakfast.
Ingredients and supplies:
- Crepe mix (or your favorite crepe recipe)
- Yellow and orange food coloring
- 3 squeeze bottles
- Large, flat griddle
- Large spatula
- Crepe filling of your choice (Nutella, whipped cream, fruit preserves, cream cheese)
Mix crepe batter according to directions. Split into three batches. (You will need less of the white, so make it half the amount of the other two.) Add yellow and orange food coloring to the two larger batches.
Pour into squeeze bottles
Pour each color of batter into a squeeze bottle.
Pour batter onto griddle
Heat griddle on high and coat with nonstick cooking spray. Squeeze a circle of white batter in the center. Squeeze a ring of orange batter around the white batter, then squeeze a circle of yellow batter around the orange batter. Cook for 1 minute.
Using a large spatula, flip the crepe over and cook for 1 more minute.
Spread with filling
Remove from griddle and spread with desired filling.
Fold into quarters
Fold in half, and then into quarters to form the classic candy corn shape.
