Guacamole in an Avocado Bowl

Serves 8

Ingredients:

    t

  • 4 medium to large ripe avocados, halved crosswise, pit removed
  • t

  • 2 tomatoes, seeded, chopped
  • t

  • 1 tablespoon lime zest
  • t

  • Juice of 2 limes
  • t

  • Pinch of salt
  • t

  • Pinch of sugar
  • t

  • A few grinds black pepper
  • t

  • 1/3 cup finely chopped fresh cilantro

Directions:

    t

  1. Run a sharp knife around the flesh and peel of each avocado half, leaving 1/8-inch flesh against the peel. Score the flesh, taking care not to cut through the avocado peel. Use a spoon to remove avocado chunks and transfer to a large bowl.
  2. t

  3. Add remaining ingredients and mix until combined, keeping avocado chunky.
  4. t

  5. Press avocado halves, bottom side down, firmly on a flat surface to flatten the bottoms so they stand up.
  6. t

  7. Fill with guacamole and serve.
