Taylor Swift is known to be a girl’s girl, she has a slew of female celebrity BFFs and she has been a strong voice for the empowerment of women, so it may come as a bit of a surprise to learn the country star actually has a serious female enemy.
During a recent interview with Rolling Stone magazine, Swift revealed the inspiration behind her new track “Bad Blood,” which is probably the angriest song from her new album 1989, and it just so happens to be about her enemy.
“For years, I was never sure if we were friends or not. She would come up to me at awards shows and say something and walk away, and I would think, ‘Are we friends, or did she just give me the harshest insult of my life?'” Swift told the mag. “[Then last year] she did something so horrible. I was like, ‘Oh, we’re just straight-up enemies.’ And it wasn’t even about a guy!”
“It had to do with business,” Swift clarified. “She basically tried to sabotage an entire arena tour. She tried to hire a bunch of people out from under me. And I’m surprisingly non-confrontational — you would not believe how much I hate conflict. So now I have to avoid her. It’s awkward, and I don’t like it.”

Since Swifty’s comments were made, there has been much speculation as to who the mean girl could be, and fans thought that they had it all figured out: the mean girl is Katy Perry!
However, the “Dark Horse” hit maker took to Twitter on Tuesday to slam the rumors that she’s the mean girl by referencing the main character Regina George from the hit movie Mean Girls.
So why does the world suspect Perry is Swift’s nemesis? There are a few reasons, but the biggest one points to the fact that the pair share the same ex-boyfriend, John Mayer.
While Swift did clarify that her drama was business-related, she hinted to the mag that there was a personal problem, saying, “But I don’t think there would be any personal problem if she weren’t competitive.”
