Through their 70 years of marriage (the first royal couple to reach this milestone!), Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip have shared one kingdom, four kids, eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren (with two more on the way), a million flirty glances and even more laughs.
And it all started when Elizabeth was just 13 years old.
“The first time I remember meeting Philip was at the Royal Naval College, Dartmouth, in July 1934, just before the war. I was 13 years of age and he was 18 and a cadet,” she recalled in a letter.
And the rest, as they say, is history — one we’ve all followed very closely.
Turning 92 this year, the queen has not only made quite the impression as the longest reigning monarch in British history — but Prince Philip has made an impression as well, since they wed in 1947. Today, we’re taking a look back at the happy royal couple through the years.
