10 rumors that plagued Johnny Depp & Amber Heard’s relationship through the years

Just two months after the couple married in a lavish ceremony on a private island in the Bahamas, divorce rumors started swirling.

And reports suggested that Heard was ready to throw in the towel because of Depp’s struggle with alcohol and drugs, Perez Hilton reports. 

At one time, the rumors about the former couple’s marriage were so bad that Heard addressed claims that she was on the brink of divorce during an interview with Marie Claire.

“I try not to react to the horrible misrepresentation of our lives, but it is strange, and hard,” she told the mag.

According to a report by Page Six, Heard’s close friendship with photographer iO Tillett Wright was allegedly frowned upon by Depp.

The publication claims that Depp didn’t like Wright and believed she and his wife “were spending too much time together for it to be comfortable.”

There have also been claims that Heard was pretty hard to please, with a source telling Us Weekly that Depp was forced to sell his beloved yacht, Vajoliroja, because it was named after his ex, Vanessa Paradis.

“Johnny loved that yacht. But he bought it for Vanessa,” an insider told the publication. “And Amber is still jealous of her.”

According to The Sun, via The Mirror, the embarrassing apology video left Depp completely fuming. 
“Johnny felt humiliated by the whole ordeal and believes Amber made him look like a fool,” a source told the paper.

Depp and Heard have very different feelings about the entertainment industry, and a source close to the former couple reportedly told Page Six that their “relationship turned sour almost immediately.”

The source continued, “She’s really young and affected by the industry and ‘the scene’ at times.” Which Depp reportedly “doesn’t tolerate.”

 
Jealousy was another rumor plaguing Heard and Depp’s marriage. A source previously told OK! magazine that Heard didn’t like seeing her husband talking to other women. 
“She stormed over and tried to butt in,” the source said of when Heard reportedly saw Depp talking to a woman. “She talked to him like a child. Johnny smiled awkwardly and seemed to calm her down, because the next minute they were holding hands again and she was all smiles.”

Before the couple even tied the knot, there were rumors that their relationship was tumultuous, and according to Perez Hilton, a longtime friend of Depp’s, reportedly revealed that for Heard, there was no hurry to get married.

“Amber flirts and has many different kinds of relationships. She is not really ready to settle down,” the unnamed friend said.

And the wedding almost didn’t happen because Heard was allegedly having a serious case of cold feet due to Depp’s “awful mood swings” and his “erratic behavior.” Wow.

But perhaps the most bizarre of all the rumors was the one about Heard planning to leave Depp for James Franco, after the pair reportedly got very close on the set of The Adderall Diaries.
