Aka Beverly Merrill, Staub was outed by her RHONJ Season 1 castmates after they found proof of their skepticism over her past in the book Cop Without a Badge, which was written by her ex-husband. In the book, Staub is accused of drug use, kidnapping, extortion and prostitution. Records show that she pleaded guilty to extortion and as a plea deal got five years of probation.
RHOBH’s Kim Richards was arrested and charged with public intoxication, trespassing, resisting an officer and battery of a police officer at the Beverly Hills Hotel on April 15, 2015. In August of that same year, Richards was arrested for allegedly shoplifting at Target. She had walked out of the store with over $600 of merchandise, most of it being kids’ toys from the dollar section.
Last month, RHONJ’s Amber and Jim Marchese were escorted off a Virgin America flight, after which Jim was arrested for domestic assault. According to LAX police, Jim had choked and threatened his wife of 10 years before the flight had taken off. Amber denied the assault and called it foreplay. The couple is now saying they plan to sue Virgin America for $100 million.
RHONJ’s Teresa and Joe Giudice famously became the first couple in franchise history to serve prison time, after both were found guilty of fraud. The couple was found to have concealed income and assets while filing for bankruptcy. Additionally, they both admitted to submitting phony loan applications and pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit mail fraud and wire fraud as well as failure to pay taxes. Teresa was ordered to serve 15 months in prison while her husband was given four years in prison and may face deportation upon his release.
Both Marysol Patton and her mother, Elsa, of RHOM fame, were arrested just months apart for the same crime. In January of 2011, Patton got busted for DUI — it was later dropped down to reckless driving. Meanwhile, Mama Elsa also got a DUI in October, but luckily for her, the case was dropped after the arresting officer failed to show up in court.
Michaele Salahi has become more famous for crashing a White House party with her ex-husband than for her short stint as a Washington, D.C., housewife. In 2009, Salahi crashed the Congressional Black Caucus dinner, even taking photos with the president and vice president and posting them on Facebook. They were requested to appear at a hearing in front of Homeland Security.
RHOA wannabe housewife Marlo Hampton wins the award for most arrests by a cast member, with a whopping seven arrests. Hampton’s first arrest was in 1999 for aggravated assault causing bodily harm with a weapon. Her next four arrests would be parole violations — all within three years. She was arrested again in 2002 for writing bad checks. She was then arrested again in 2002 for violating her probation again, and again in 2003. Hampton has served a total of about a year in jail time.
RHOC’s Brooks Ayers — Vicki Gunvalson’s cancer-faking boyfriend — was arrested not once, but twice, both times in 2010 for owing over $40,000 in back child support for four children by two different baby mamas.
RHOA husband Apollo Nida was sentenced to eight years in federal prison for identity theft and bank fraud earlier this year. He had already served time prior to marrying Phaedra Parks, and laundered $2.3 million during his scheme.
RHOC‘s Smiley, boyfriend of like three different Housewives, was arrested in 2009 for civil contempt — the court’s way of saying unpaid child support — dating back to 2005. It is reported that he owed over $100,000 in back pay.
Grammer is a repeat offender, with his first arrest going back to 1988 for cocaine possession and drunk driving. In 1990, he was arrested again for cocaine possession and sentenced to probation and community service. The following year, he had more probation time tacked on after he violated his probation with more cocaine use. In 1996, he totaled his Dodge Viper while intoxicated, and entered rehab shortly after.
