With any A-list event, there are always a few who decide to opt out of the glitz and glamour that night holds — even with the Met Gala. It’s not surprising that quite a few A-listers (and some of the ones who always come in something that hits the top of every best-dressed list) won’t be attending this year’s Met Gala.
Not only did they raise the ticket price to $50,000 each, but the theme of honoring late designer Karl Lagerfeld has raised quite a few eyebrows. For those that don’t know, this year’s Met Gala theme is titled “In Honor of Karl” for the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s new exhibit entitled “Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty.” (This means that guests need to arrive in something that honors Lagerfeld’s fashion legacy!)
Days before the Met Gala, fans were devastated to hear that the Queen of stunning Met Gala looks Blake Lively won’t be in attendance. She confirmed she wouldn’t be attending by telling People: “I will be watching.”
And she’s not the only star who RSVP’d no to this year’s Met Gala. See all of the stars who skipped the 2023 Met Gala below:
Despite coming nearly every year since her debut in 2008, Blake Lively confirmed to People that she would only be watching the Met Gala this year.
