May is a big month for the British royal family, to put it lightly. Not only do they have King Charles III’s historic coronation on May 6 (and the long-awaited concert on May 7), but quite a few birthdays in the mix. We all know about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s son Archie’s birthday on May 6, but he’s not the only one.
For those that don’t know (or may have forgotten), Kate Middleton and Prince William’s daughter Princess Charlotte’s birthday is on May 2! Since the date is so close to the coronation, many are wondering if her birthday celebration will get lost in the fray of it all. However, Kate and William have decided to pull a move that’s eerily similar to Harry and Meghan’s.
As many royal fans know, Meghan has reportedly decided to skip the coronation to celebrate Archie’s birthday, with Harry coming to the UK for a rushed visit. This decision has faced a lot of controversy in the past week, but it seems Kate and William are taking a page out of the Sussex’s book.
Per OK, rehearsals for the coronation will take place in the week leading up to the ceremony, and because Charlotte’s birthday is on one of those days, Kate and William will be skipping some of the rehearsals for their daughter’s birthday.
A source said that the Prince and Princess of Wales don’t want their daughter’s birthday to “get buried in Coronation hype.” To ensure it is “celebrated properly,” the source added, “Charlotte will be at school at Lambrook on that Tuesday, so the plan is to collect her at the usual time and drive back to Windsor for a small party with her friends at Adelaide Cottage.
They added: “It might even be a surprise party because staff have been told to keep it quiet.”
So it seems Harry and Meghan won’t be the only couple missing some of the coronation and coronation prep for their little one!
