When you think of Disney princesses, chances are you think about their gorgeous curls and the stunning gowns you wish you could twirl in on a daily basis. A Disney princess’s go-to dress is typically colorful, puffy, and a ballgown dream we can never take our eyes off of. (Sadly, Disney princesses haven’t quite understood how gorgeous and powerful a black gown can be just yet!) While we see ballgowns quite a bit on the red carpets, this year’s Academy Awards were full of them.
On March 12, it seemed like every single star in Hollywood came out to celebrate the biggest night in the entertainment world. While a bunch arrived in style on the official Oscars red carpet, quite a few of our favorite stars decided to hit up the after-parties instead.
Whether it was the Vanity Fair Oscar After Party, Elton John AIDS Foundation’s 31st Annual Academy Awards Viewing Party, the Governor’s Ball, or another A-list-packed party, our favorite celebs came in some jaw-dropping ensembles!
However, if you’re anything like us eagle-eyed fans, then you noticed a pattern on both the red carpets. No, it wasn’t the naked dresses, or even a color everyone decided to wear — it was the fact that everyone wanted to channel an IRL Disney princess.
Go big or go home, and these stars really went big (with their ballgown skirts, of course!)
Check out which stars channeled their inner Disney princess at any of the events for the 2023 Oscars below!
Artist and author Sarah Bahbah looked like the definition of a princess in this dramatic, silky caramel ensemble from Joyfolie. Specifically, their June Impact Dress in Dark Honey, which is not only gorgeous, but $100 of each Impact Dress purchase will be donated to the charity Women for Women!
Minnie Driver looked ethereal in this puffy, floral green gown from Emilia Wickstead.
Kate Bosworth stunned in this in this Monique Lhuillier gown consisting of a black velvet top and baby pink, taffeta skirt.
Rita Ora brought the edgy princess vibes in this dramatic Weiderhoeft gown.
Sharon Stone turned heads in this vibrant caped yellow look from Tony Ward.
For Elton John AIDS Foundation’s 31st Annual Academy Awards Viewing Party, Hilary Duff captivated everyone in this dramatic red tulle gown!
Michelle Yeoh looked like an IRL angel in this tiered, ruffled white Christian Dior Couture gown.
The most Disney-princess gown of the night was definitely Stephanie Hsu’s Barbiecore pink Valentino gown.
All eyes were on Halle Bailey during the Oscar arrivals when she stepped out in this tulle, baby blue ballgown from Dolce & Gabbana.
While Cara Delevingne’s striking gown is a bit edgier than a typical, soft Disney princess dress, we can totally imagine a new-age Disney princess rocking this red Elie Saab ballgown.
Allison Williams’ sheer pink ballgown from Giambattista Valli is definitely something we’d see at the last scene of a Disney movie.
Sofia Carson was the definition og ethereal in this puffy white ballgown from Giambattista Valli.
Kerry Condon gave us all of the Belle vibes in this vibrant yellow Atelier Versace gown.
