When you think about Jim Carrey, you think about his zany characters who are almost always larger than life. So, obviously, you’d think he comes home to something just as loud, colorful, and eccentric. However, that couldn’t be further from the truth because his abode is the definition of minimalism.
In the past week, the Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind actor listed his two-acre Brentwood estate that he’s called home for the past nearly 30 years. While people aren’t entirely sure why he’s saying goodbye to it, he’s dropping his home at a seriously hefty price: for nearly $29 million (or $28.9 million if you want to be technical!)
Now, not only is this mansion the pinnacle of idyllic living, but it’s huge. With over 12,000 square feet of land, the home has five bedrooms, six full bathrooms, along with three half bathrooms. The brick haven has been kept under wraps for decades, but now, all eyes are on Carrey’s soon-to-be former home, and everyone is wondering: which superstar will live here for the next 30?
Check out the photos of this gorgeous, and rather magical, home below (and make sure to see all of the photos and details at Dirt!)
Martha Stewart-Level Kitchen
This kitchen is something out of a Martha Stewart video, with an indoor barbecue, breakfast room, and brand-new appliances. Who’s ready for pancakes?
Pop of Colors
While Carrey keeps the main parts of the house minimalist, he does add a pop of color whenever he can. For the dining room, he made sure that the details were bright, showing that he does bring a bit of his zaniness home from work.
Seriously, the inside is so airy, thanks to the ridge-line skylights and beamed ceilings!
Along with a bunch of fireplaces and art in every corner, this home comes with a roomy office, a gym, multiple lounges, and a theater.
Huge Living Room
Did you really think this living room wouldn’t be grand? It’s so big that the grand piano fits in way too easily.
Carrey is known to be quite spiritual, so it’s no shocker that he has this mediation pavilion amid his sprawling grounds.
Everything You Could Ever Want
The amenities don’t stop inside, because the home also has a bunch of patios, a vegetable garden, a tennis court, a gazebo, a waterfall that pours into a swimming pool, a spa, a pool house, and a steam room, to name a few.
