There’s nothing we love more than women empowering other women, and on Sept 28, the must-see event for that happened. Variety once again held its esteemed Power of Women event, honoring amazing women like Ava DuVernay, Oprah Winfrey (who didn’t make it to the red carpet but looked incredible in a gold jumpsuit!), Chelsea and Hillary Clinton, Malala, and Elizabeth Olsen.
At the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts, everyone had their ears and eyes peeled for what these amazing women had to say. When Hilary got up on stage, she remarked on the Roe v Wade overturning, quoting her late friend, per Variety. “It’s a choice to be optimistic. My late friend and predecessor as secretary of state, Madeline Albright, was once asked if she was an optimist. She said, ‘Yes. I’m an optimist who worries a lot.’ Let’s be optimistic but take our worry and channel it into action.’”
Not only were the speeches something to not miss, but so was the red carpet fashion. From custom pastel dresses to gothic gowns, these women brought their style A-game (and we truly couldn’t get enough of it!)
