No matter the time or place, the world adores a royal wedding. Prince William and Kate Middleton and Princess Diana and Prince Charles’ weddings each had over one billion viewers watching the televised event. (Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s televised wedding ended up getting nearly one billion more, making it the most-viewed televised wedding of all time!) Now, with a royal wedding comes a level of opulence that many try to reach for their own wedding — but without access to the Crown Jewels for their ceremonies, it can be hard to match.
From designer gowns with insanely long trains to jam-packed wedding venues, these royal weddings have so many beautiful photo-ops left and right. Seriously, every royal wedding has at least one photo where it should be framed in a museum or have a Disney movie based on it. It’s uncanny.
However, there are quite a few that, without fail, always take our breath away. (Hint: Princess Diana’s wedding gown will forever live in our minds rent-free). While quite a few of the marriages ended up being wildly turbulent, their wedding photos are still oh-so stunning. From Kate and Will’s memorable wedding to Fergie’s iconic 1980s-esque wedding dress, every photo is a sight to see.
With Charles and Diana, Fergie and Andrew, and Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi’s anniversaries all coming up in July, we’re taking a look back at some of the best royal wedding photos throughout the years below.
