Penélope Cruz, Katie Holmes, & More Stars Who Hit the Red Carpet For This Year’s Tribeca Film Festival

The 2022 Tribeca Film Festival kicked off on Wednesday night in a big way after a canceled year in 2020 and a hybrid situation in 2021 due to the ongoing pandemic. The red-carpet return meant a buzzworthy film had to bring back the glamour and excitement again. Festival organizers enlisted Jennifer Lopez and her Netflix documentary, Halftime, for its world-premiere event.

Tribeca Film Festival co-founder Jane Rosenthal explained why Lopez’s film was the perfect choice for them. “It’s her perseverance and her passion to get the halftime show done that she wanted to tell,” she told Variety. “Her passion as an activist and as a woman of color, it’s a wonderful story behind the headlines. It’s gonna be a fun party, too.” Lopez certainly didn’t disappoint when it came to creating a show-stopping look — her couture gown showed off every gorgeous curve.

J.Lo wasn’t the only star to show up on the red carpet and celebrate the Tribeca Film Festival’s return to in-person screenings. So, scroll on to see the couple who made their red-carpet debut, and a few reality stars who made the invite list — their names just might surprise you.
