Ever since middle school, when I first checked out books at my local library, I instantly fell for tales of romance and falling in love. I’d seen the women in my family absorbed by romantic stories over the years, eyes fluttering at certain pages and finishing entire novels in one day. As soon as I got my hands on my very first book about that special someone who could change your life forever, I fell in love. And the talented YA author Sarah Dessen was a huge part of my romantic tween awakening.
Chances are, you’ve read one or two of Dessen’s novels (and couldn’t get enough of them!). Dessen’s novels have been loved for nearly two decades for their poignant stories of self-discovery and hopeless romanticism. Most recently, one of her classics Along for the Ride has been adapted as a Netflix motion picture starring Emma Pasarow, Belmont Cameli, Kate Bosworth, and Andie MacDowell.
So, before the film hits Netflix on May 6, maybe it’s time to take a trip down memory lane and pick up a few more of Dessens’s novels for a low price. From some of her first books to her most recent one that came out in 2020, it’s time to fall in love with Dessen’s stories all over again.
