With a property as grand as the White House, there’s bound to be a lot happening. From lavish Christmas celebrations to huge meetings, the White House has been an epicenter of extravagant events — including weddings.
That’s right, a few people have had their nuptials take place at the White House. According to the White House Historical Association, there have been less than 20 documented weddings hosted by the President and First Lady since the early 1800s. Along with that, there have only been four wedding receptions to have taken place in the White House. However, later in 2022, another wedding has taken place.
On April 4, 2022, Joe Biden’s granddaughter Naomi Biden tweeted that she and her fiancé Peter Neal will get married, making them the nineteenth couple to do so. She tweeted, “Peter and I are endlessly grateful to my Nana and Pop for the opportunity to celebrate our wedding at the White House,” Naomi, 28, tweeted on Monday. “We can’t wait to make our commitment to one another official and for what lies ahead.” You can see the tweet HERE. And now, the two’s wedding celebration is coming into full swing this weekend!
From weddings that occurred nearly 200 years ago to ones that happened more recently than you remember, these White House weddings were absolutely stunning. Check out these White House weddings below.
