Chrissy Teigen and John Legend have been making real estate moves over the last few years, selling their Beverly Hills home and settling down in the West Hollywood area. Now they are bidding adieu to their New York City penthouse, nestled in the downtown Nolita area. The home is actually two units that occupy the entire sixth floor and one-half of the fifth floor — plenty of room to spread out, which isn’t always the case with Manhattan living.
That brings the entire property to 6,164 square feet with six bedrooms and six-and-a-half bathrooms, plus a 3,300-square-foot rooftop terrace. The landscaping and amenities outdoors essentially provide everything the couple needed to entertain at home — no trip to Central Park even needed. The home still needs a few renovations and updates though, given the nature of the classic 1836 building, so that is why the family is on the move.
Legend told The Wall Street Journal, “We’ve realized that because of work and everything, we’re really mostly going to be in Los Angeles, so we’re going to focus our home-building energy and renovation energy on what we’re doing in L.A.” Eventually, they hope to find a turnkey NYC property when time allows. Well, someone will be happy with this $18 million penthouse that offers privacy and security (and a few home projects) for any A-list star.
