Salma Hayek is a force of nature — strong, beautiful and smart. She’s proven that time and again during her career in Hollywood and she’s also making a statement that she can still be a major player in Hollywood at the fabulous age of 55. But it’s her relationship with her daughter, Valentina Paloma Pinault, 13, with husband François-Henri Pinault, that matters the most to her.
She describes her teen daughter as “very creative, very smart, very funny, and very willful,” via Town & Country, and those might be the same words we think of when it comes to the Oscar nominee herself. And for Hayek, who became a mother for the first time at 41 years of age, she has no regrets about becoming a parent later in life. “I got to do a lot of things that were important to me first. Most crucially, I had her with the right person at a time when I could really focus on [motherhood],” she explained to The Telegraph.
When Valentina was younger, she went everywhere with her mom and dad. Fans had the opportunity to see her on the red carpet supporting her mom at major events. (Wait until you see the tiny toddler photo of her at the Puss In Boots premiere in 2011.) The mother-daughter bond is strong and it’s hard to deny that Valentina is Hayek’s mini-me.
Now that Valentina is in her early teens, we see her less in the public eye. She probably wants to maintain a bit of privacy, but it’s fun to look back at the sweet photos of the dynamic duo. Take a look at Hayek and Valentina together over the years and don’t miss her epic moment at the Vatican.
