When it comes to home decor, cooking or anything lifestyle, Martha Stewart is the queen. But you have to have a good foundation to begin — and that’s exactly what she has in her collection of homes. We like to think she’s the doyenne of the New England aesthetic (thanks to her Maine home), but don’t ever think the home expert rests on her laurels.
Once you see her New York City home, you will see what we are talking about. It’s unexpected and modern — and so totally Martha all at once. While that may be our favorite place that she once owned, Stewart will tell you that her Maine residence is her coveted pièce de résistance. “I look at myself as the caretaker of an American treasure,” Stewart told Architectural Digest about Edsel Ford’s historic Skylands residence that she now cherishes as her own.
And if there’s one thing we know, the 79-year-old TV personality has no plans to slow down when it comes to work or her love of real estate. We wouldn’t be surprised if she added another one to the group — just because she needs another home decorating project.
