While the Oscars have come and gone the 92nd Academy Awards are still on our minds. Whether it be looking at all the red and pink dresses on the red carpet or perusing after-party photos from some of the exclusive soirées like Vanity Fair’s annual celebration or Jay-Z and Beyoncés after-party, the 2020 Oscars are still on our minds.
Seeing Brad Pitt walking the carpet solo wasn’t a surprise although we were hoping he’d bring a date. And after learning about Keanu Reeves’ (not-so-new) girlfriend we were hoping they’d walk the carpet together. So, there were a few things we got our hopes up for that didn’t wind up panning out, like seeing Barack and Michelle Obama hand-in-hand on the red carpet. Okay fine, that was never a realistic possibility although they were nominated for their documentary American Factory which ended up taking home the Oscar for Best Documentary — so hoping to see former President Obama and first lady Michelle Obama on Hollywood’s biggest night wasn’t too far fetched.
And while many A-listers did take the carpet with their significant other like Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos, Idina Menzel and Arron Lohr, and Scarlett Johansson and Colin Jost, many celeb couples we thought we’d see at the ceremony ended up not attending. Well, there’s always next year, right?
