On adventure…
Image Credit: Erik Pendzich/Shutterstock. Design: Ashley Britton/SheKnows. “Do we really want to travel in hermetically sealed popemobiles through the rural provinces of France, Mexico and the Far East, eating only in Hard Rock Cafes and McDonalds? Or do we want to eat without fear, tearing into the local stew, the humble taqueria’s mystery meat, the sincerely offered gift of a lightly grilled fish head? I know what I want. I want it all. I want to try everything once.”

On wisdom…

Two Years After His Death, These 13 Anthony Bourdain Quotes Still Inspire Us
On June 8, 2018, the world lost a culinary icon, respectful explorer and inspiring human. Anthony Bourdain will be remembered as an opinionated, brave and innovative public figure. He was sardonic and the very definition of cool. But it might surprise some to know he didn’t consider himself a great chef. He was a prolific writer, including writing a handful of crime novels, though he didn’t consider himself good at that either.
While we respectfully disagree on both of those points, there’s no denying Bourdain’s main contribution to America’s culinary landscape was through the connections he made with people across the globe, using food as the international language. Between his books and his TV shows and in countless interviews, he made us laugh, he made us cry — but most of all, he inspired us to see the world through other people’s food and through other people’s eyes.
Ahead, you’ll find some of our favorite Anthony Bourdain quotes to keep the inspiration going.
