The cabinets were painted (despite Stacie’s wishes), new tile flooring was installed, and the ceiling light was removed and replaced with recessed lighting using CFL bulbs. There is also under cabinet lighting that is powered by batteries (very green!). Not seen in this photo: The designers installed a peninsula that contains a microwave at a lower level for Scott to use.
Baby Jakob’s room looks amazing after the remodel. The designers add the tree and turtle mural and a new dresser. The closet was organized and the doorway opened up wider so Scott could get into the room.
The Bundys’ family room got brand new carpet (donated from Express Flooring) and curtains. The fireplace was given a facelift. A new chaise lounge sofa and bright blue chairs were brought in for some color. The photo wall is a highlight of the room and the new rug pulls everything together.
Brand new tile flooring was added throughout the living room. The built-in was painted grey with blue backboards to make it pop! The designers added storage above with some baskets. The oversized TV was replaced with a lower energy LCD TV mounted to the wall. The fishtank was cleaned and lowered so Scott could access it. The room was painted two different neutral tones to give it some depth.
The master bedroom was upgraded with a fresh coat of paint, grass wallpaper on the focal wall, brand new side tables, headboard and dresser. The designers gave the family brand new bedding, curtains and mirrors. They also fixed the closet door which was missing and patched the holes so you can’t tell there’s a door off the hinge.
Since Scott has full access to the middle bath, this space was reserved for Stacie. The designers replaced the toilet with a dual flush toilet, a bead board sink, a new light, vanity, mirror, and a brand new shower door. The bathroom was also re-tiled throughout.
Scott is a musician and has a lot of equipment! His room was reorganized and painted to give it a more den-like feel. The ceiling is now a darker color and the walls are a nice neutral to give all of his unique art the attention! His desk is raised, making it easier for Scott to work. The closet is now opened up for Stacie to use as a linen closet. The CDs are organized and displayed nicely.
