Denise Richards doesn’t understand why people are freaking out over her body.
Attention, everyone: Please stop with the concern trolling over Denise Richards‘ health. The actress and fitness advocate told Extra that she’s not too skinny — she’s just really, really healthy.
“I don’t know why lately I’ve been getting so much flak for it,” Richards said. “I have a very healthy lifestyle and I’m busy.”
The too-skinny talk started after Charlie Sheen’s ex was photographed in February with very thin arms. Several media outlets described the “once curvy” Richards as “scary skinny” with “stick-thin legs and [a] diminished backside.”
It’s not true — and she doesn’t want her daughters exposed to the negative body talk.
“What bothers me is I have three daughters,” she said, referring to Sam, 9, Lola, 7 and adopted daughter Eloise, 22 months. “I’m such an advocate for health and fitness… In moderation, we eat ice cream all the time. I had grilled cheese before we got here!”
The actress is all about teaching her kids to have a good relationship with food and exercise.
“My kids definitely keep me active,” Richards told SheKnows last year. “I also eat well and try to exercise as much as possible. Being fit is not just about looking good, it’s about being healthy. I have three kids to care for, and I want to be as healthy as possible and teach them good habits as well.”
It sounds like it’s working, too: The girls only want healthy snacks these days.

“They actually like to cut up fresh vegetables with ranch dressing on the side. That’s their favorite!” she told Us Weekly in 2012. “They love helping. They like making salads because they like chopping things up and rinsing the lettuce. Nothing too fancy!”
