Survivor's Malcolm Freberg: "I wanted to be a villian"
Viewers of Survivor: Caramoan — Fans Vs. Favorites had a definite favorite to win this season: the long-haired Malcolm Freberg. The cast-off recently revealed that he didn't always set out to be the lovable one.
Recent Survivor: Caramoan — Fans vs. Favorites cast-off Malcolm Freberg had quite the plan to win when he started with the franchise during Survivor: Philippines: Win at any cost, even if it meant changing his whole outlook on life.
"I was preparing to be a villain when I started," he told Reality TV Magazine. "In all my interviews before the Philippines, I completely anticipated being a villain because I wanted to win so bad and planned on playing sneaky."
The plan didn't last long. He soon found out that he couldn't hide his true personality and decided to embrace it.
"I was just being myself out there the entire time. What you see is me. That's how I am sitting around the house," he continued.
Adding that he didn't realize fans would love him so much, he said, "It's unexpected, but I'm not gonna argue with it either. I would be lying if I said it wasn't a little nice."
We're not sure how he kept up the strength to compete in two back-to-back Survivor seasons.
"I had roughly two weeks off and that was it," he said of his time of between Philippines and Caramoan. "Right back out."
Would he do it again?
"Yeah. Since I haven't won, there's still that fire, that need to win, to prove to myself that I can do it. It would be hard not to go back," he continued.
And we're sure the fans would love to see you back too, Malcolm!
