Steel Magnolia's Meghan Linsey hits the ACMs solo
Steel Magnolia's Meghan Linsey walked the ACM Awards red carpet as a solo artist. SheKnows got the inside scoop on her current projects — is a solo album in the works?
Former Can You Duet winner Meghan Linsey is an old pro at walking the red carpet at the ACM Awards, but typically not by herself.
"[Steel Magnolia] has been nominated five times," the gorgeous blonde told SheKnows Sunday night at the 2013 ACMs. "I'm doing this solo today so it's a little different, but cool."
The singer — one-half of the musical duo with ex-fiancé Joshua Scott Jones — is now working on a solo album. So, how is going at it alone different than with a partner?
"I'm doing things the way I want to do them," she said, elaborating that "I'm just able to do more. [I can be] a little more soulful and write a little more honestly."
The album will revolve around the stuff going on in her life, she continued.
"Heartbreak, love are definitely factors," she said of the songs on the upcoming album. "Just life… trying to be as honest as I can."
The album is still in the works, but Linsey does have a single out now: "Baby, Get Out" — a duet with The Voice's Cody Belew.
"We wrote it together," she beamed.
As for the show, Linsey said she couldn't wait to see the men of the hour: Hosts Blake Shelton and Luke Bryan.
"They're just so funny," she said.
We totally agree, Meghan.
