Lark Voorhies bipolar? Mother and daughter disagree
Lark Voorhies' mental health is an issue of concern for her mother. The rarely seen Saved By the Bell star, who has shocked the public with her altered appearance in recent years, may have bipolar disorder.
Lark Voorhies' bipolar disorder diagnosis has been announced by her mother, Tricia Voorhies, though the girl who was once known as Lisa Turtle from Saved By the Bell says the mental illness reports are simply not true.
After a recent series of interviews with People, Lark Voorhies' behavior has been described as troubling. Explaining what happened when the actress sat down to chat, the celebrity news site shared "...it was clear something wasn't right. Voorhies, 38, would frequently stop mid-sentence and stare off, often mumbling to herself or to others who weren't there."
"There are things that have traumatized her," 64-year-old Tricia Voorhies, who shares a home with Lark, offered along with mentioning the bipolar diagnosis. "I care deeply about my daughter and I want her to resume her life."
Yet according to the former Saved By the Bell star, she's just fine. Explaining her "over-loving" mother worries about her for no reason, Lark Voorhies insisted she is not sick, and is continuing to work on low-budget indie productions, recording music and self-publishing her own books.
As for her strange behavior during the People interview? "I have a strong spiritual sense," the star seen in the photograph above in 2009, said. "You caught me in moments of pray[sic]."
