Lindsay Lohan's lungs went on strike over the weekend
Lindsay Lohan's lungs are definitely not having the best week ever. The star was rushed to a New York hospital Sunday — but was a lung infection, walking pneumonia or asthma to blame?
When Lindsay Lohan is hospitalized and her rep starts insisting the star is "doing fine," the gossip-loving world waits for the other shoe to drop. Yes, the oft troubled actress has been in the emergency room yet again, this time seeking help for her ailing lungs.
TMZ first reported Lindsay Lohan's lung trouble, stating the 26-year-old was rushed to the emergency room Sunday night. Unnamed sources told the gossip site Lindsay Lohan is suffering a bad lung infection, while she has reportedly told friends she's been dealing with a bad case of "walking pneumonia" for the last couple weeks.
However, People lists a different culprit as the main cause of Lindsay Lohan's hospital visit over the weekend. Reporting Lindsay Lohan was "suffering the effects of asthma," Lindsay Lohan's rep told the magazine's website that the Liz & Dick star was "treated and released, and is doing fine."
Some are having a hard time buying it was asthma that put Lindsay Lohan in the hospital, however. One Twitter user wrote Monday, "Asthma? Is that what they're calling it these days?"
Much as happened last June, when paramedics were called because Lindsay Lohan was unable to be awakened (she was later treated for exhaustion and dehydration), there seems to be more to the story than we're getting.
Dr. Drew Pinsky, one expert with a medical license and penchant for the spotlight, thinks so too. In June, he told RadarOnline:
"Something else was obviously going on with Lindsay.... That just doesn't happen, even if she had been working grueling hours. For someone to be unable to be woken and basically unconscious is very serious. 85-year-old men and women can be in that state, but not someone who is Lindsay's age. I wish Lindsay only the best, but I'm truly worried about her."
