Madonna's latest Lady Gaga dig: Who's imitating whom?

Madonna and Lady Gaga are like two peas in a musical pod these days, apparently. Though the elder pop queen has dedicated a song to the young star, is everything really on the up and up? Or was that a dis in disguise?

Madonna and Lady Gaga are at it again, it seems! The Material Girl has dedicated a song to Mother Monster in what appears to be a gesture of kindness, but was it genuine?

"I'm going to dedicate this next song... to Lady Gaga," Madonna said, dedicating "Masterpiece" to Lady Gaga. "You wanna know something? I love her. I love her. I do love her."

Sweet, right? That's not all, however.

"Imitation is the highest form of flattery," the woman who previously said Gaga's "Born This Way" sounded both "very familiar" and "reductive" added. "But one day, very soon, we're going to be on stage together. Just you wait. You think I'm kidding? I love Lady Gaga."

Curiously, Madonna also dedicated the same song to longtime frenemie Elton John during a concert in August.

"I know he's a big fan of it. And I know he's a big fan of mine," the 54-year-old said. "And you know what? I forgive him. Gotta start somewhere."

Don't expect to hear much from Lady Gaga about Madonna's song dedication and "imitation" jab. The freshly tattooed 26-year-old has been taking the high road through the drama, only stating previously, "I don't even want to fight back because it's more important to me to keep writing music. Because that's really all I care about, is the music.

"Things are really different than they were 25 years ago, and that's what makes 'Born This Way' so relevant for me. We're socially in a different place and it's OK, we don't have to all slice and hate each other anymore."

Do you think Madonna's Lady Gaga dedication was a dis in disguise?
