Showtime's Dexter is in hot water
The countdown to Dexter is on. After last season's jaw-dropping finale, the relationship between Dexter and Debra will never be the same. Showtime's favorite serial killer has a lot of explaining to do.
"This show is always at its best, or most potent, when Dexter's in hot water, and the water's really as hot as it's ever been now." Those are the chilling words that Michael C. Hall uses to describe Dexter's seventh season.
The show has finally pulled the rug out from under his sister Debra (Jennifer Carpenter) and forced her to face the truth: her brother is a serial killer and she caught him in the act. So what's next?
Showtime has released a behind-the-scenes featurette that teases their sibling confrontation. This season will pick up right where the finale left off, with Travis (Colin Hanks) on a slab and Dexter looming over his body.
In a situation like this, there's not much Dexter can say. His hands are literally red with another man's blood, yet he still makes an appeal. He tells Debra, "I snapped." Later on, we see them standing in a kitchen as Dexter tries to soften her up. "I'm still your brother. Nothing's changed." Debra sternly replies, "Everything's changed."
As you'll see in the video, Debra's in a horrible position. Not only is she Dexter's sister, she's also his boss. If she keeps this secret, she could be stripped of her title and kicked off the force. On the other hand, could she handle seeing her brother carted off to jail?
