The love triangle heats up in the second season of Hart of Dixie
In Hart of Dixie, The CW comedy-drama created by Leila Gerstein, new doctor Zoe Hart thought she had her life all figured out. After graduating med school, she planned to become a cardiothoracic surgeon, following in her dad's footsteps. When those dreams were shattered, she took an offer from small-town doctor, Harley Wilkes, to work in a practice in Bluebell, Alabama.
Hart of Dixie is back for Season 2, set to premiere on The CW on Tuesday, Oct. 2 at 8/7c.
When Zoe Hart (Rachel Bilson) arrives in Bluebell, she learns that Wilkes has passed away and has left his half of the medical practice to her. Zoe brings her big New York City attitude to the small town, and so, she's not met with much southern hospitality. Zoe doesn't plan to stay long, but when she discovers that Wilkes was actually her real father, that all changes.
In Season 1, we got to know a cast of characters that included Zoe's bad-boy neighbor Wade (Wilson Bethel) as well as George (Scott Porter — Jason Street from Friday Night Lights), a lawyer who worked at a large New York law firm before moving back home to Bluebell. George is engaged to Lemon (Jaime King), the daughter of Dr. Brick Breeland (Tim Matheson), who shares half of the medical practice with Zoe.
Throughout the first season, we saw the love triangle building between Zoe, Wade and George. It culminated with the season finale, in which George and Lemon's wedding was called off, George confessed his love for Zoe, and Zoe and Wade finally gave in to their feelings for each other.
Why should you watch?
There's nothing like a good old-fashioned love triangle for must-see TV. The characters in Hart of Dixie are likeable — except maybe Lemon. But you had to love her when she punched George in the Season 1 finale.
