Kathie Lee: Taylor Swift defied Kennedy wedding orders
Kathie Lee Gifford has an eye-witness account to share of Taylor Swift crashing a Kennedy wedding. Not only was the songstress told not to come at all, she had to be asked to leave the venue repeatedly!
The case of Taylor Swift and the Kennedy wedding is turning into a battle of she said vs. they said — vs. Kathie Lee Gifford! How'd the morning show host get involved in the hoopla? Follow the gossip trail to find out.
You see, Taylor Swift and boyfriend Conor Kennedy reportedly crashed the wedding of his cousin, Kyle Kennedy (the bride), on Saturday. Not true said the singer's rep, insisting Swift had been invited and Kyle "thanked her profusely for being there."
Vicki Gifford Kennedy, Kyle's mother, has an entirely different story to tell, however.
"They texted me an hour before the wedding and asked if they could come," she explained to the Boston Herald, adding that Conor Kennedy had been invited but failed to RSVP.
"I responded with a very clear, 'Please do not come.' They came anyway... I personally went up to Ms. Swift, whose entrance distracted the entire event, politely introduced myself to her and asked her as nicely as I could to leave. It was like talking to a ghost. She seemed to look right past me."
Kathie Lee Gifford, who is Vicki's stepmother through her marriage to Frank Gifford, spoke out Thursday to back up her family's tale of the Kennedy wedding events. "Why can't I stay out of trouble? I was just a guest at that wedding," the Today host wondered before delving into the details. "[Kyle] is actually my granddaughter by marriage."
"The truth is, Vicki, Frank’s daughter's, account of what happened in Boston is accurate," she said, adding that Taylor Swift was asked to leave "twice."
"It's the bride's day, and that was Vicki's other concern," Kathie Lee Gifford added of why the megastar wasn't welcome to the formal affair at the last minute.
