Former American Idol winner Jordin Sparks is about to have her moment on the big screen in the remake of Sparkle — and the girl looks incredible! The bubbly singer has dropped 50 pounds from her tall frame over the last couple of years. Naturally, we want to know: What’s her secret?
“There is no secret,” Sparks told US Weekly Tuesday night at the New York City premiere of Sparkle. “It’s just better eating and working out! It’s definitely a daily thing.”
Her cardio is based around the popular Latin dance workout Zumba.
“My mom’s best friend is a Zumba instructor and I loved it,” she added. “I started with walking then went to jogging and then Zumba.”
She’s also working with a pro one-on-one.
“I started [working with a trainer] and we did 30 minutes of circuit training,” Sparks added. “So I didn’t feel like I needed to be in the gym for two hours.”
“I knew I had a long road ahead of me. I was barely working out and my diet was a mess,” she told Shape in the August issue. “I had to address when, what and how much I was eating.”
