Uma Thurman is celebrating today: She just gave birth to her third child — and first with boyfriend Arpad Busson — over the weekend, her publicist confirms.
Uma Thurman is a mom for the third time! The Smash actress — already the mom to Maya, 13, and Levon, 10, with ex-husband Ethan Hawke — gave birth to a daughter on Sunday, her rep confirmed Monday morning.
“Confirmed!” a rep for Thurman told US Weekly. “Mom and baby are doing well!”
The baby — her first with boyfriend Arpad Busson — was an unexpected blessing, a source said.
“Uma was definitely not planning on having another kid. It was a surprise,” a source told US Weekly in February. “But she’s over the moon about it, very excited.”
Thurman is next up on the big screen with Robert Pattinson in Bel Ami, but we expect her to take some time off to care for her new child. The actress told U.K. magazine Stylist that she finds work relaxing, but it’s difficult to do with small children.
“I actually find work can be quite relaxing,” she said. “When the children were little I wasn’t able to work like I did before. So now, when I do work, it’s very much like, ‘This is good, this is my time.'”
She’s all about relaxing — maybe a holdover from her father’s Buddhist teachings.
“I’ve done things that I’ve chosen. Just to enjoy myself. I haven’t done anything really big in a long time,” she told WebMD earlier this year. “Partly that’s been a conscious choice, and partly it’s been that I just haven’t found something worth putting my life aside to do.”
Congratulations to the happy family!
