Zsa Zsa Gabor's husband cries "Victory!" after court
Zsa Zsa Gabor's care is now in the hands of her husband, Frederic von Anhalt. While he's thrilled with the court's decision, it's surprising that the ailing star's daughter is happy too.
Zsa Zsa Gabor's husband Frederic von Anhalt was granted conservatorship of his 95-year-old wife Wednesday, prompting him to cry, "Victory!" upon exiting the courthouse.
Though he's obviously thrilled with the Zsa Zsa Gabor ruling, what's shocking is that the ailing actress' daughter, Francesca Hilton, has also found a silver lining in the official conservatorship!
For the next six months Frederic von Anhalt will be responsible for Zsa Zsa Gabor's care, much as he has been for years to Francesca's frustration. However, now that an official ruling has been made, he'll have to start providing monthly financial reports, medical records and allow Hilton to visit her mother weekly.
The arrangement will "make sure Zsa Zsa's money is used for Zsa Zsa's benefit and not for anybody's birthday party, billboards or mayoral campaign," her lawyer explained.
A doctor who evaluated the star, seen here with her daughter in a photo from the early 1950s, determined that her well-being is closely tied to her remaining in a familiar environment, seeming to negate Hilton's concerns Gabor was being increasingly isolated from the outside world.
Frederic von Anhalt has until Jan. 9 to prove he is able to properly care for his wife of 25 years. In recent history she has been hospitalized numerous times, had a leg amputated and fell into a coma. A judge will evaluate the 65-year-old's ability to handle Zsa Zsa Gabor's care and decide if the conservatorship should continue then.
