The singer is one of many celebs to release fragrance lines in the last few months. Bon Jovi is creating a scent for both men and women.
Jon Bon Jovi is getting his foot into yet another industry. This time it’s the last one you might have expected.
The singer announced today that he will be creating a fragrance line for Avon.
According to CBS News, Avon Products announced today that Bon Jovi’s line would be called Unplugged, and the man himself will be appearing in ads for both Unplugged for Her and Unplugged for Him.
“The company said the inspiration for both scents is the unique feeling one has listening to a favorite song,” said CBS News. “The goal is ‘an emotional connection.’”
“The women’s version… is a floral oriental perfume, and the men’s is a woody floral musk fragrance,” said CBS News.
Avon and Bon Jovi’s shared love for philanthropy is the reason for the pairing, according to the company’s statement.
Bon Jovi heads the Jon Bon Jovi Soul Foundation, which helps families in need find food and affordable housing.
This philanthropy made Bon Jovi a new friend last week when he found himself at the same summit as Warren Buffett. The duo soon shared the stage.
“Mr. Buffett, the Berkshire Hathaway chairman, gave his ukulele a workout on Tuesday in a duet with Jon Bon Jovi,” said the New York Times.
Bon Jovi said he was nervous for the show, but enjoyed the opportunity and a chance to work with Buffett, a man who works to convince his billionaire friends to give much of their fortunes to charity.
“I realized I don’t need Richie Sambora anymore,” Bon Jovi said, according to the New York Times, “because I have a new sidekick.”
The company reports that the women’s scent will be available in October through the Avon catalog and the men’s scent will be available in November.
Other celebrities who have their own fragrances include Rihanna, Taylor Swift, Lady Gaga, Donald Trump and Kim Kardashian.
