Jenny McCarthy, 39, graces the cover of the latest issue of Playboy. It’s her sixth appearance on the mag’s front, but everyone’s wondering if her age will be a factor in people checking this latest issue out.
But few were as noteworthy as this one.
McCarthy’s returning to the pages of the iconic men’s magazine for the July/August double issue, which hits newsstands on Friday, June 29. But McCarthy knows that her age — she’s 39 — will be a big factor (for better and for worse) with people picking the issue up off the shelves this time around.
“Why should 20-year-old girls be the only ones that are considered desirable?” McCarthy said in a statement. “MILFs are sexy, too!”
McCarthy will be the centerpiece of an 8-page Playboy pictorial that has been shot by photographer Steve Shaw. It’s McCarthy’s first spread since January 2005. Prior to that last layout, McCarthy graced Playboy’s cover in 1993, 1994 (when she was named Playmate of the Year), twice in 1996 and once again in 1997.
But McCarthy is better known these days for being a mother and advocate for autism research. In fact, McCarthy told Access Hollywood two years ago that she’d gladly pose for Playboy if they’d dedicate $2 million toward autism research.

Is it brave that she’s willing to bare her body for public consumption once again? Should McCarthy be above all this now that she’s a mom? And is it really so daring posing for Playboy at the age of 39 when we live in the age of Photoshop? We’d love to hear your thoughts.
