Jack Osbourne totally overwhelmed by daddyhood
Jack Osbourne is learning a lot about being a father already. Find out why he's super overwhelmed by his newest role in life.
Jack Osbourne beat drug addiction and lost a bunch of weight, but those accomplishments pale in comparison to his new challenge: fatherhood. The new dad of baby Pearl sat down with U.K. entertainment magazine Hello! to talk about his new little girl and life with fiance Lisa Stelly.
"People say when you have a kid it’s like instant love, but unless you've experienced it, it's impossible to comprehend," Osbourne, 26, gushed. "The moment I saw her I felt more love than I'd ever felt for anything. It was the weirdest, most overwhelming thing."
Stelly raved about Osbourne as a father, saying that he's more than willing to get up with her at night.
"He gets up to change her [diaper], burp her and put her back to sleep," she told the magazine. "I’ve only changed three nappies — Jack’s done all the others."
Osbourne wasn't always that excited to be a dad, though. The couple had only been together a few months when Stelly found out she was pregnant.
"I think I responded with 'That's interesting,'" he recalled. "What do you say? If we'd been trying for two years, of course you'd be like 'Awesome!' But we met in May and found out in August. I told Lisa, 'You need to give me a week to really take this in.' I had that time to get my head around the whole situation.'"
The former reality star admitted that he freaked out and called his former nanny for advice. "I just said, 's*** What do I do? She talked me off the ledge," he said.
He came around, though the couple hasn't always agreed on everything regarding parenting. "Jack didn’t like [Pearl] at first. He liked Moxie. That could be the name of a Bratz doll. I was like, ‘Heck no,’" Stelly joked.
"I thought Pearl sounded like a grandma, but then I thought it would be really cute to have a little girl with a grandma name, so I came around to it," he admitted.
Next up to have kids in the Osbourne family? Kelly Osbourne! The E! Fashion Police host is feeling the tick, tock of her biological clock, she said.
"I'd be the best mom ever," Kelly told Anderson Cooper. "I would. I've got great training from my mom." However, she'll settle for being the "best auntie ever" for a while.
"I want to be [the cool aunt], but I'm under strict instruction not to spoil her," she said. "But I don't think that's going to stick."
