Kim Kardashian and Kanye West bond over PETA hate
Put another notch on the list of things Kim Kardashian and Kanye West have in common. Aside from a reported budding romance, these two share a mutual hate for PETA.
Kim Kardashian and Kanye West both love to wear fur, much to the disgust of PETA. The group, officially known as People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, recently got mixed up in a flour-bombing incident with the reality star, and is now on the receiving end of a Kanye West "Theraflu" lyrical jab.
The rapper, rumored to be beginning a romance with Kim Kardashian, previously drew PETA's ire for stepping out in a fur coat. In his latest song, dubbed "Theraflu" Kanye West rhymes, "Someone tell PETA my mink (coat) is draggin' on the floor."
Dan Mathews, Senior Vice President of PETA spoke out about Kanye West's "Theraflu" jab at the group. "What's 'draggin' on the floor' is Kanye's reputation as a man with no empathy for animals or human beings," he said in a statement. "He's a great musician but doesn't seem to have the fashion sense to design anything more than caveman costumes…"
Ever the optimist that PETA can change both morals and mindsets, Mathews added, "We keep hoping that one day he'll find his heart and join evolved style icons — including Russell Simmons, Pink and Natalie Portman — who have dropped animal skins."
Take note, Kim Kardashian is seen here in early March at Kanye West's Paris Fashion Week show, looking warm and cozy. Just 17 days later she was doused with flour at an event promoting her new perfume, an act of disobedience applauded by PETA.
