Tom Cruise becomes aging rocker with tattoo
Tom Cruise, Russell Brand, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Alec Baldwin all in the same movie? If you aren’t pumped yet, you will be after you see the new trailer for the Broadway-musical-turned-Hollywood-movie Rock of Ages.
He’s everyone’s favorite rocker, known for drugs, alcohol and women. But when it the lights go down and the man walks off stage, life for the famed rocker is anything but glam.
With an all-star cast worth every A-list name, Rock of Ages is the story of two young fans who fall in love in 1987 in Los Angeles -- at the height of the hard rock era. Filled with hits from the '80s, most of the film takes place in a rocking club known as The Bourbon Room. The trailer shows Alec Baldwin, who plays the club owner, jumping into a group of raging fans. Russell Brand plays Lonny, a close friend and also the narrator of the story. You know these two are up to no good when they start talking about puking in their pants. Say what?
The night Stacee Jaxx is supposed to play the venue, Baldwin's character says, "This place is about to become a sea of sweat, earth-shattering music and puke." You can only imagine the fun that is about to happen!
The two young lovers falling for each other in all this madness are played by Julianne Hough (Dancing With the Stars, Footloose) and Diego Boneta (Pretty Little Liars, Mean Girls 2).
Paul Giamatti plays the wig-wearing manager. Catherine Zeta-Jones plays the mayor's wife who wants nothing more than to shut down the club. And she might have good reason, this place makes Studio 54 look like a convent. But with Cruise on stage, sweaty and mic in hand, who can blame her for wanting to sneak in and see just a little bit of the show?
Rock of Ages releases in theaters June 15. Summer can't get here fast enough!
